Chemical/Lab Technologist

We are looking for a Chemical Technologist to conduct evaluations and lab tests, prepare reports, provide support in the lab and participate in various related tasks.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Conducts product performance evaluations, defining chemical and physical attributes of adsorbent products.
  • Generates detailed laboratory reports summarizing research and development efforts.
  • Provides technical support of the lab instruments, ordering required gas cylinders.
  • Participates in adsorbent synthesis, filtration, and collection of the product.
QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience: At least 2 years’ experience with industry accepted analytical testing methods and equipment. Working Experience in material synthesis lab is preferred.
  • Education: Degree or Diploma in Chemistry or a related field.
  • Technical: Adept in MS Office, Excel and Word
  • Other: Familiarity with Analytical instruments (such as TGA, FT-IR) is preferred

Materials/Manufacturing Technologist

The Technologist works as part of the manufacturing team to manufacture and package structured adsorbent beds.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Learns all facets of manufacturing process including slurry preparation, coating, screen printing, bonding, cutting, bed manufacture, bed packaging, bed testing and QC testing.
  • Facilitates scale-up of manufacturing processes.
  • Assists with projects through procuring and assembling equipment and performing manufacturing trials for process and product validation, including QC testing and reporting.
  • Identifies and troubleshoots process, material, or equipment problems to maximize throughput, minimize down time and recommend solutions to Manufacturing Engineers.
  • Develops requirements, sources, procures, and assembles new tooling, fixtures, and equipment to improve production methods.
  • Modifies existing tooling and equipment to improve production methods.
  • Assists Manufacturing Engineers with revisions and improvements to manufacturing methods and procedures, including documentation of procedures.
  • Completes time studies to quantify processing times and identify areas for process improvements.
  • Assists with hands on training of manufacturing employees on new products, tooling, equipment and process revisions.
  • Schedules, performs, and documents routine maintenance on applicable manufacturing and test equipment.
  • Assists in failure analysis, troubleshooting, rework/repair of non-conforming manufactured product to determine root cause.
  • Performs tests, gather data, and writes results/reports with assistance from Manufacturing Engineers.
  • Complies with Inventys policies, guidelines and external regulatory requirements.
  • Carries out other related tasks and projects as required.
COMPETENCIES REQUIRED (knowledge, skills, and abilities):

  • Education: Science-related degree or diploma.
  • Experience: At least 2 years’ working as a technician in a production and/or lab environment.

Mechanical Engineer

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to provide machine design, analysis, and validation alongside other team members to advance mechanical aspects of Inventys CO2 capture technology.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Generates mechanical solutions, concepts, and designs with good judgement according to sound design practices.
  • Solves complex problems where analysis of a situation and data evaluation are required in order to meet specifications.
  • Prepares and presents technical status reviews to show overall progress of a task or project.
  • Independently carries out studies, tests and analysis interpretations and conclusions.
  • Manages product and production documentation.
  • Prepares requirements documentation, design documentation, drawings, and manufacturing documentation to control vendor made parts.
  • Prepares manufacturing documentation, work instructions, assembly details, and control plans.
  • Develops and performs design validation plans.
  • Develops and performs equipment acceptance testing.
COMPETENCIES REQUIRED (knowledge, skills, and abilities):

  • Education: Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience: At least 5 years mechanical engineering in design, manufacturing, procurement and assembly of machine equipment.
  • Preferred Experience: Medium to Heavy Duty rotary equipment, composites and related manufacturing processes, face seals and sealing materials.
  • Fluent with SolidWorks for parts, large assemblies and product data management software.
  • Good understanding of manufacturing cost analysis for different manufacturing processes.
  • Working knowledge of SolidWorks FEA analysis for structural design.

Polymer Chemist

The Polymer Chemist carries out product testing and enhancement activities within the Adsorbents Group, supporting corporate and customer treatment objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Develops new formulations and enhances existing formulations of adsorbent products.
  • Oversees the synthesis and scale-up of new products and product improvements.
  • Develops physical and chemical characterization protocols for existing and new product development efforts.

Technical Writer

We are looking for a Technical Writer to work with Team Leads to create monthly project update reports as well as produce a variety of internal and external reports and publications. Specific tasks encompass planning, designing, writing, interviewing, editing, producing and maintaining documentation, while ensuring that the documentation products meet the needs of their audiences and are delivered accurately and promptly.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Learns all facets of manufacturing process including slurry preparation, coating, screen printing, bonding, cutting, bed manufacture, bed packaging, bed testing and QC testing.
  • Receives status reports from Team Leads, compiles reports and creates consolidated status reports. Meets with Team Leads as required to gather additional information and seek clarity.
  • Receives reports from Project Coordinators and creates project updates.
  • Combines and compiles various internal reports and generates external reports for the Board, investors and customers on status of technology development.
  • Develops and maintains company technical documentation using authoring and publishing software.
  • Applies structured authoring principles in the development of documentation.
  • Researches and writes white papers on company products.
  • Provides editorial support to writers and others in the company.
  • Assists Marketing in developing, implementing and maintaining documentation style guides, authoring procedures and CSS’s (for online documents).
  • Keeps up to date with new industry methods and technologies to streamline documentation processes and improve department productivity.
COMPETENCIES REQUIRED (knowledge, skills, and abilities):

  • Education: Degree (Bachelors or Masters) in English or a Communications-related discipline, with training in technical communication.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years’ technical writing experience in a hi-tech environment involving technology/product development
  • Technical: Adobe FrameMaker, MS Word, MS Visio, MS Project, PowerPoint
  • Strong technical aptitude and understanding of hard products (mechanical, electrical and/or electronics)
  • Track record of publications in reputable industry journals
